Made by the Omolite Co., Inc. of Jamestown under the brand name of RAYDEX, these automobile lamp diffusers hit the market in the 1920s. They covered half of the lamp or headlight on an automobile and helped to spread the light over a larger area. Head of the company and the illuminating engineer behind it was Otto M. Otte, who lived in Jamestown for a few years before moving to the Pittsburgh area.
