Research Request
General Information
Research Center hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Friday or Saturdays by appointment only. If you cannot visit the Research Center in person and/or would like to have one of our skilled researchers do research for you, we charge a research request fee of $30.00. You will need to submit a Research Request (either a general inquiry or a genealogical inquiry) and payment by mail, email, or using the form below.
- Submissions by Mail. Print and mail the research request form or a detailed letter (and a summary of your previous research if available) and a personal check or certified money order to the Fenton History Research Center, 67 Washington St., Jamestown, NY 14701.
- Submissions by Email. After making a payment by phone, please email the completed form or a detailed letter (and a summary of your previous research) to researcher@fentonhistorycenter.org.
- Submissions by Form. Use the form below to submit your research request, including uploading any relevant files. You may also print out the forms provided on this page, scan them, fill them out, and upload them in the form. After that, you will have choice for submitting payment on the form.
Once a research request form (or a detailed letter) is completed and payment submitted, a designated research volunteer will use the information provided to conduct a thorough search the Fenton History Center’s extensive library of historical and genealogical publications, family files, and archival materials for additional information.
You can submit your payment using the form, call the Fenton at (716) 664-6256 to pay by phone (Mon.-Fri., 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.), or send a check made out to Fenton History Center and mail to Fenton History Research Center, 67 Washington St., Jamestown, NY 14701.
