Trivia Nights 2025

On February 26, 2025, we wrapped up the 10th year of Trivia Nights, our fundraising event held at Shawbucks every February! We would like to thank our sponsors: Media One Group/WJTN, Rodgers Land Surveying, and our host for the event, Shawbucks! We would also like to thank our MC Giulia Sowery of Star Sirch Productions for running the trivia games!

From all four weeks, we had a grand total of 11 different teams and 54 different players. Each team consisted of 2 to 6 players (some weeks teams had different players).

The theme of the trivia this year was 1980s and World War II; 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the end of the war. Each night there were seven rounds of trivia with five questions each round. Teams gave their answers a score between 1 to 5, and they would earn points if they got the question correct. Each night, there was one final round which allowed teams to wager up to 20 of their points. If they get the answer correct, they would gain the points, but if they got the question wrong, they would lose points. The highest point total possible was 125, or 126 in the event of a tie.

Winners received a $100 prize for winning the night, and the team with the most points consecutively won $200 at the end of the four weeks. Fenton Executive Director Joni Blackman also asked local history questions from the Jamestown Centennial Trivia game for prizes. This trivia game is available in the Fenton Museum Store for $20.

In Week 1, Team Jean, consisting of Eric Anderson, Jamie Glatz, Doug Nordwall, and Jamie Sharpe won the night with 114 points.

In Week 2, last year’s trivia champions, Effin Judo Chop won the night with 121 points. This team consisted of Sebastian and Lesie DiNapoli, Bill, Adam, and Lindsey Loftus, and Trent Gray.

In Week 3, Effin Judo Chop won the night again, with 111.5 points. This team consisted of Sebastian and Lesie DiNapoli, Cindy, Adam, and Lindsey Loftus, and Trent Gray.

In Week 4, Buneos Knows was the only team to get the final question correct, securing the win with 95 points. The team consisted of Drew Hemmerling, Norm Rodriguez, Paul Schmermahorn, and Danny Thomas.

In the end, adding up the scores for all four weeks, Effin Judo Chop won with 424.5 points.

In second place overall with 387.5 points was Team Jean.

In third place overall with 384 points was Reuben’s Raiders, consisting of Janet and Jim Wahlberg, Andrew Kolstee, Matt Tsitso, Tom Goodwill (weeks 1, 2, and 4), and Sandy Hatfield (week 3).

In fourth place overall was Great Odin’s Raven with 333.5 points. The team consisted of Art Osterdahl, Jon Osterdahl, Kelly Hetrick, Ken Liedy (weeks 1, 2, and 4), Andy Osterdahl (weeks 1 and 4), Debbie Osterdahl (weeks 1 and 3), Gavin Paterniti (weeks 2 and 4), and Lori Caruso (week 2).

Rounding out the top five in fifth place was Buenos Knows with 314.5 points.
