Notes from the Director – November 2024

I’m Baaack!

It has been a very busy few weeks as I step back in to the role of Executive Director here at the Fenton. From working with Barb Cessna to install the “On the Home Front” exhibit to preparing the Hall House Research Center’s basement for the final phase of its renovation to safely house collections to presenting Fenton’s case for support to the City Council to maintain our financial support from them for their property. Please stop in to see the “On the Homefront” exhibit – it runs from Saturday, November 9 to February 28, 2025.

I have enjoyed meeting our new volunteers and members and catching up with those that have continued to volunteer since I left in 2017. And of course the staff is working very hard to keep up with the daily work of managing a local history center. All the staff, volunteers and friends put on a great Saints and Sinners Lake View Cemetery Tour event last month. We had great weather and lots of ticket sales! It’s a great way to teach local history.

I look forward to meeting you and finding out what motivates you to support the Fenton – as a member, a researcher, a volunteer, an event goer and/or a museum lover.
