They are here!! The 20th Annual Saints & Sinners Cemetery Tours and Mausoleum and More tickets are available. We’ve added five more carriage tours to the list. You can also get your pre-sale 20th year commemorative shirts! There will be a separate announcement for this. Tickets for the walking tours, carriage tours, and mausoleum tours. The shirts will be available soon on our website, so you can order your shirts ahead of time to wear them on the tours!

August is the final month of the Jamestown Historic Walking Tours. The Riverwalk Tour is on Saturday, August 2 at 10:30 AM. Genealogist and historian Andrew Kolstee, who is also my right-hand office manager, will be leading the tour. The area around the Chadakoin has a lot of history. The last tour of the season is the Hidden Alley Tour on August 9 at 10:30 AM. Led by volunteer Cindy Dustin, this tour is full of interesting and surprising tales of what happened in the alleys and the buildings around them. Please try to make the tours!

The lecture this month is about the first World War II casualty from Chautauqua County, John Henry Mann. Janet Wahlberg has researched his story and has some new information to share, so please come to the lecture on Wednesday, August 13 at 1 PM.

The Chautauqua County History Expo will be happening Saturday, August 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.. Over 45 historical societies, libraries, genealogy societies, and museums from our region will be showcasing their collections and offerings. The event is sponsored by the Chautauqua County Historian’s office. There will be raffles for a custom-made chair from Your Custom Chair, a division of Fancher Chair, a genealogy/research basket, a bicycle, and many other baskets from the community. Admission is free and food will be available to purchase.

Hope to see you soon!
