Annual Meeting: Trustees, 2026-27 Officers Elected

President Thomas Goodwill issues welcoming remarks.

The 64th Annual Meeting of the Fenton Historical Society of Jamestown, New York was held Sunday, February 1, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the dining room of the Gov. Reuben Fenton Mansion.

President Thomas Goodwill called the meeting to order, welcomed everyone, and issued a President’s report. The 2025 annual report was presented. Joni Blackman issued a Director’s Report, including the Vision 2030 plans which include building a third building and replacing the mansion roof, among other projects. Office Manager Andrew Kolstee issued a report on finances, IT, and the museum store. Archivist/Curator Matthew Tsitso issued a report on collections. Hall House Manager/Vets Finding Vets Coordinator Barbara Cessna issued a report on the veterans program and the Hall House Research Center. Janet Wahlberg, Research Center Committee Chair, also spoke about the activities at the Hall House.

There were 6 Trustee positions up for election and the membership elected the following to 6 of the 6 positions: Kaycee Colburn (for a second term), Hannah Jaroszynski (for a second term), James Jaroszynski (for a second term), Richard Lundquist (for a second term), Paul Johnson (for a first term), and Marcia Kleinert (for a first term). Hannah was also recently appointed as City Representative, taking over for William Reynolds III.

All four officers were re-elected as follows: Thomas Goodwill for President (second term), Janet Wahlberg for Vice President (second term), Paul Bentley for Secretary (third term), and Sam Papaserge for Treasurer (second term).

Members, volunteers, former staff, and/or supporters who had passed away in 2025, were recognized in a moment of silence: William J. Canby, Anita G. Chadwick, Lillian G. Chapman, Cheryl A. Collins, Helen M. Gilbert, Peter C. Flagg, Anne C. Kohl, R. Wayne Leamer, Robert H. Munson, John A. Nord, Sara W. Reale, G. William Samuelson, John C. Schupp, Barbara A. Strychalski, and Carolyn M. Volk.
