The Fenton History Center welcomed visitors on Saturday, May 3, 2025, for a special book signing event featuring Rod Beckerink, author of the new book Around Clymer. Attendees gathered in the museum’s dining room at 10:30 a.m. to hear Beckerink speak about the book and the history it showcases.
Beckerink, a retired teacher and President of the Clymer Historical Society, discussed the process of creating the book, including how he selected the historic photographs and wrote the accompanying descriptions. He presented a PowerPoint featuring highlights from the book and shared additional background about the images and the history of Clymer.
Around Clymer offers a visual journey through the history of Clymer, New York, highlighting the town’s Dutch heritage, small-town character, and strong sense of community. The book pieces together key people, places, and milestones that have shaped the town from its founding in 1821 to the present day.
After the presentation, Beckerink signed copies of the book for attendees. Copies of the book are available for purchase in the Fenton History Center’s museum store and on the website..
