Recipe of the Month – Swedish Apple Pie

The Fenton History Center has an extensive collection of local cookbooks in its archives. This recipe comes from  the Diana Lodge #114 Favorite Recipes published around 1972. 

SWEDISH APPLE PIE
Mrs. Ford Swanson
Beat 1 egg with ¾ cups of white sugar
Sift together:

  • ½ cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon of salt
  • Add to the egg and sugar mixture

Then stir in:

  • 1 ½ cup diced apples
  • ½ cup chopped nuts
  • Bake in a greased 8” square pan at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
