Recipe of the Month – Maple Marshmallow Custard

In 1993 the Ellery Senior Citizens published a “Favorite Recipes” cookbook. This Spring recipe was submitted by Bessie Kohn.

MAPLE MARSHMALLOW CUSTARD

2 cups milk
2 eggs
⅓ cup maple syrup
marshmallows

Heat, but do not boil, 2 cups of milk. Beat 2 eggs and add 1/3 c. of maple syrup. Stir into the warmed milk. Place a large marshmallow in the center of each custard cup and pour the liquid over. Place the cups in a pan of hot water. Bake at 350 degrees until a knife inserted comes out clean. Remove from the oven and cool.
