Autumn brings falling leaves, pumpkins, apple cider, and the Saints and Sinners Cemetery Tours! As usual, we have a great line up of characters for all of the tours. Unfortunately, we sold out of carriage tour tickets early and we even added a few carriage tours to our program this year. We are trying to come up with a solution for next year. There are still tickets available for walking tours and the Mausoleum Tours.
Do you remember me mentioning the Family Reunion at the Fenton Mansion? That would be the reunion of the Fenton Family Portraits, with two of the portraits on loan from the McClurg Museum in Westfield (Chautauqua County Historical Society). I received a call last week from Cristie Herbst, President of the Chautauqua County Historical Society, and not only do they want to let us keep the portraits permanently, but they are going to give us their entire Fenton Collection! We are so grateful to have this Collection gifted to us. I am not going to let you know what is in the Fenton Collection because you are all cordially invited to the exhibit opening on Saturday, December 2nd, 2-4 pm. Put that date on your calendar!
For those of you who frequent the Hall House Research Center, you will be happy to know that work has finally begun on the new ramp. A special thank you goes to volunteer Dr. Tom Greer for repairing the threshold in order for the project to proceed. By the end of this month a new cement ramp will be ready for use. This project was funded through a grant with CRCF.
