Anyone who would like to help us decorate the mansion this year, please come on Tuesday, November 21st, 2-5pm. Call 716-664-6256 for more information. It really does take a village to decorate the Mansion.

We will be closed on Thanksgiving, November 23rd, but will be open normal hours on Friday and Saturday, so bring your family to the museum! As you celebrate Thanksgiving, remember that we are giving thanks for the life we have in America, our families, and our friends. Here are some facts regarding Thanksgiving as a holiday: On October 3, 1789, George Washington issued a proclamation creating the first Thanksgiving Day designated by the national government of the United States of America. On October 3, 1863, during the Civil War, Lincoln proclaimed a national day of thanksgiving to be celebrated on Thursday, November 26, in hopes of bringing the war torn country together. Congress established Thanksgiving as a national holiday, with proclaiming the fourth Thursday in November as the Federal Thanksgiving Day holiday and the resolution was signed by President Roosevelt on December 26, 1941.

Saturday, December 2nd, is our opening to view the Fenton Collection memorabilia. Everyone is invited to attend this free event from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Fenton Mansion. Besides viewing the Fenton Collection you will be the first to see the mansion decorated for Christmas.
Stay safe, healthy, and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
