Exhibit Opening: The Rapids to Jamestown: 1809-1815

Join us Friday, May 23, 2025 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for the opening of our exhibit, The Rapids to Jamestown: 1809-1815

This exhibit tells the story of the first six years of the Rapids through the eyes of our County’s first historian, Dr. Elial T. Foote. Dr. Foote came to the Rapids as a young physician looking to make his future in the great Western Reserve. He became acquainted with James Prendergast and all the other hearty men and women who chose to homestead in the village wilderness along the river. Visitors will learn who they were and what they overcame to endure and flourish. The artifacts are from the first few years of Jamestown’s beginning. They represent the people and activity in the early years of the Rapids. The exhibit runs from May 23 through September 3, 2025.
