Give Big CHQ: Support the Fenton!

Dear Friend of the Fenton,

I’m sending you an extra note this month to remind you all about Give Big CHQ, the annual day of giving organized by the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation and the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation. Give Big CHQ is a 24-hour fundraising drive for Chautauqua County non-profits, which starts today at 12:01 a.m., Thursday, June 10, 2021. The Fenton’s direct giving page can be found by clicking this button:

Hopefully, you already think that the Fenton is a cause worth supporting – we rely on your help to power our programs and keep our historic buildings operating smoothly. Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Community Foundations and the Fenton’s Board of Directors, this day of giving is an opportunity to make your donation to our cause go even further.

Between 7:16 a.m. and 7:16 p.m. on June 10th, all donations will be matched by the Fenton Board, up to $850. During this 12-hour stretch, the Community Foundations are also sponsoring a Prize Pool, which will further add to the value of your donation. All donations given during that time period will more than double their impact on our organization! The Community Foundation Prize Pool is based on the number of donors, not the amount, so please encourage those in your network to give even small donations to our cause – with these structures in place, small amounts will add up very quickly!

Also, we are partnering with three other non-profits this year – the Audubon, the YWCA, and the Jamestown Public Market – to show that there’s enough generosity in our community to go around, in what we’re calling the “Share the Pie Challenge.” From 10 a.m. to noon, we will be promoting the great partnerships that the Fenton has with each of these organizations, and showing the wonderful work that they do for our community. After noon, the Community Foundation will run a tally to see which organization got the most people to donate to more than one participating non-profit – the “winning” organization will have their director pied in the face live on Facebook at 4 p.m. on the 10th. Some of the Fenton staff seem extra motivated at the thought of hearing that the Fenton director could be pied in the face…we’re up for anything to build enthusiasm!

Thank you all for everything you do to support the Fenton History Center. We could not exist without your ongoing generosity and participation in our programming. Please help us to make the most of this opportunity to raise some funds (and have some fun!) for the Fenton and for our community.

Sincerely,

Noah Goodling,
Fenton History Center Executive Director
