At The Robert H. Jackson Center

305 East 4th Street, Jamestown, NY 14701

The presentation will focus on six veterans who were interviewed by Gregory Peterson and Phil Zimmer through the “Defenders of Freedom” project. The “Defenders of Freedom” project was launched in 2013 and has recorded  225 interviews with local veterans. The presentation uses film interviews and archival footage to provide a vivid portrayal of the veterans’ experience.  The program is open to the public and offered free of charge through sponsorship of the Robert H. Jackson Center, Fenton History Center, the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, and the Chautauqua County Veterans Service Agency.

Greg Peterson, a local attorney and co-founder of the Robert H. Jackson Center
in Jamestown, NY, has shared with the Fenton History Center his way of honoring
local WWII Veterans. He has been interviewing them for the past several years regarding
their service to our country. These interviews are accessible through YouTube, or you
